"Local entrepreneur Mark Cleveland is targeting a June 2016 groundbreaking for a SoBro-based 12-story “micro flat-iron building” with a floor plate of a mere 5,000 square feet.

With the modest footprint (for comparison, the missile-like L&C Tower offers a floor plate of about 6,500 square feet) and rising upwards of about 140 feet, the building could be Nashville’s most slender inhabitable structure of 10 stories or more. To sit at the point at which Lafayette Street, Fourth Avenue South and Ash Street create a triangle (and along the recently started Division Street Extension), the structure should rank among the city’s most distinctive and iconic, Cleveland said.

Cleveland is calling the hotel Stanza Nashville and it will not offer a regional or national brand. He has enlisted Nashville-based Kennon Calhoun Workshop for design. The firm’s Josh Spence will serve as project development director, with James Kennon to be the lead architect."
